Lightweight Concrete Block
Concrete block produced with Mountain Pumice™ Lite-Rock™ has significant advantages over comparable concrete block made with heavier traditional weight aggregates. For example, an 8” x 8” x 16” concrete block made with Lite-Rock™ is approximately five pounds lighter than a counterpart made with limestone or gravel. This difference in weight increases jobsite efficiency and production while improving safety and limiting wear-and-tear on masons to provide both short-term and long-term gains over standard concrete block.
Even in comparison to other lightweight aggregate used for block production, such as expanded shale or clay, Glass Mountain Pumice™ Lite-Rock™ is the superior choice. A natural by-product of past volcanic activity, Lite-Rock™ does not require processing, which is time, energy and cost intensive. Glass Mountain Pumice™ Lite-Rock™ leads to greater success and profitability on jobs while being more environmentally friendly than expanded shale, clay and other lightweight aggregates that need to be kiln fire processed.
